Bol is a place on the south shore of the island of Brač situated at the foot of Vidova gora, the highest peak of the Adriatic islands. If you visit Bol you will be mesmerized by the scent of pine forests, clear sea, beautiful beaches and cultural landmarks like the Dominican monastery and parish church. The unavoidable attraction of Bol is definitely the pebble beach called Zlatni rat (Golden cape), one of the most gorgeous on the Adriatic. This natural phenomenon was created by the precipitation of fine sand of the underwater reef, because of the influence of water currents and winds the point of the beach constantly changes its shape.
The town Jelsa is located in the middle of the island of Hvar and is mild, clean and open hearted to the guests and travelers. Jelsa is surrounded by the two highest mountains on the island – in the west St. Nikola, and in the east Hum.
Popular Beaches in Jelsa: Mina, Grebisce, The bay of St. Luka.
Mina – sandy bay which is about 500m from the center of Jelsa. Ideal for children.
Grebišće – sandy beach bay about 1.5 km away from Jelsa. It consists of 2 bays “Velo Grebišće” and Malo Grebisce”.
The bay of St. Luka – pebble beach, 4km east from Jelsa, also arheological finding spot from Roman times. There is a small church of St. Luka on the cape of the bay.
The smallest town on the sunny island Hvar, is special because of its geographical location hidden in the depth of the bay, the untouched pine forrrest, the cultural sights with the marks of the Gothic, renaissance and baroque style, and an architecture interwoven with narrow winding roads. Vrboska is known for its beautiful gravel and sandy beaches, clear air, crystal blue sea and untouched nature. The rich fishermen tradition of Vrboska reflects also in the local gastronomic offer. The bay Maslinica is very popular beach with crystal clear sea.
Soline – peninsula with several pebble beaches from the south side, and on the north side there are flat stones of naturaly square shapes.
You will be amazed with the bays of Mala and Vela Grčka. From the ancient times these bays were the shelters in stormy weathers…
We spent a day on this lovely beach. Spent the first hours on one side, went for snacks on the beach bars, then moved to the other side of the beach for afternoon.
Small white pebbles and crystal clear water. Nice shade from pine trees if you like. Fully understand why this is a favorite for tourists and natives.
